First wedding of 2010 preview – and off to California!

Hey all!
It’s been a little while since my last post… winter is a slow time in the Midwest, all that snow and coldness! Thankfully, it’s starting to warm up into the 60′s and the snow is melting away, which means it’s time for the wedding season to start rolling. I’ve been spending tons of time emailing, on the phone, and my favorite part — meeting couples in person to talk wedding photography. I love meeting people for the first time and finding out their story! I can’t wait for the next few months with spring and summer on the horizon… it’s going to be such an awesome year.
That being said, Joel and I are taking off in an hour for California — for two whole weeks! It’s sort of a vacation/visiting-family/housesitting/getting-away-to-warm-weather extravaganza, and I seriously can’t wait. It’ll involve taking lots of photos of ourselves and friends and visiting the places we used to frequent — eating at Wahoo’s Fish Taco in Santa Monica, strolling around Long Beach with a cup of Portfolio’s coffee in hand, beach trips to Laguna — and of course, wearing shorts and flip-flops! We’ll be back on the 24th, but I’ll have email access and my phone, so feel free to still get in contact if you have any questions or want to talk about your wedding date!
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peak of Brian and Heidi’s February wedding. Two words: classically beautiful. :)
